| St.Clair Shores, its Bays
and Boats |
|
St.Clair
Shores - Lake St.Clair is the heart like bulge between Lake Erie and
Lake Huron. I suspect its the remains of some glacial scraping. These images
are from wandering around along the shores and marinas that outline the lake. |
|
Mikes Bay
- one of the charms of New Baltimore is the big bay frontage it has along
Lake St.Clair looking due East to Canada and the sunrise. There are opportunities to catch the sunrise in a variety of
seasonal disguises and meteorological masques. And as you can see from these photos, the Bay does not fail to charm the eye. |
| Air
Show - Selfridge Air Force Base 2003 |
|
|
The
Airshow- at Selfridge Airbase near Detroit is a great outing because
of the static display of planes, fun area for the kids plus the great aerial
displays put on by such teams as the Red Baron biplane antics and the Air
Force's Thunderbirds among others. |

|
Airshow
Closeups - the static display of airplanes allows budding photographers
to get close-up and personal with many planes - old and new. Airshow
Flyby has pictures that remind viewers of the barnstorming era of the
1920-1930's where streaking spirals, death defying hammerheads and g-force
loop-de-loops were the order of the day. |
Dream Cruise |
|
The
Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise 2004 was on a sunny weeked in a wet summer.
So Cruisers were out in force up and down Woodward Avenue showing off thousands
of vintage, muscle, classic and the new beef on the block. Thanks go to Mike
McCullough for providing the images |

Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise 2003 -
these pictures show the quintessential Motor City experience - Cruisin. Where else in the world would popular demand for cruising and comparing
cars be more natural ? ePostacrds of the pics can be sent out directly by clicking on an image title
and just following directions from there. |

Detroit
Institute of Arts - is tucked away on the Wayne State University canvas
up on Woodward Avenue, The Museum has delightful sculptures and wonderful
spaces full of light, vaults, the Diego Rivera murals and a delight for any
artistic eye. This is a fun building to walk through. You can visit
the DIA online but a walkthrough the expanded galleries is just a great
experience including a stop at the Institute Cafe. |

Downtown
Detroit - is in transition as the core regrows and new vistas like the
riverfront Sculpture Garden and the Woodward and Grand Circus areas - with
the new Spoprt Parks bring people to the downtown for leisure and shopping
as well as business. |

Detroit
Tiger's new park, Comerica Park, right across the street from the Lion's
Ford Stadium, is just a wonderful place for baseball. And the Tigers have
honored their baseball heroes with striking statues of Ty Cobb to Willie
Horton. This is a fun place to go for a baseball game... now all Tigers have
to do is find some new heroes for the present day roster. |
|
MSU Homecoming -
is a delight for sports fans and Marching Band aficianados. Of course the MSU
Spartans football game is the highlight of the weekend but there is also field
hockey, soccer, volleyball ... ohh and the MSU Marching Band. These musicians
put on quite a show .. and ever since the movie Drumline, the band action is
getting darnright audacious. Great fun and tailgate parties too. |
